Andrew J. Nathan, the Class of 1919 Professor of Political Science at Columbia University, has published a new article, “The Puzzle of the Chinese Middle Class,” in the April 2016 Journal of Democracy. The Journal is published by the National Endowment for Democracy and the Johns Hopkins University Press.
