Carol Gluck discusses Shinzo Abe’s Pearl Harbor visit in The New York Times and The Japan Times

Carol-Gluck-2015_550wCarol Gluck, the George Sansom Professor of History and Chair of the Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University, was quoted in the December 24, 2016 New York Times article “In Pearl Harbor Visit, a Symbol of Reconciliation in Japan” and the December 28, 2016 The Japan Times article “Leaders’ Hawaii Remarks Include Veiled Message for Trump: Experts.” Both articles explore the political significance of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s historic December visit to Pearl Harbor and the visit’s possible place in global war memory.
