Duncan McCargo, Senior Research Scholar at the Weatherhead East Asian Institute and Professor of Political Science at the University of Leeds, was quoted in a May 22, 2016 article in USA Today about the possibility of elections in Thailand following the 2014 military coup. In the article, Professor McCargo discusses the August Thai constitutional referendum, noting “I think the Thai junta will face an incredible crisis of legitimacy and public confidence and trust if and when – and I think when is more likely – they lose this referendum.”
