In July 2016, Eugenia Lean, Director of the Weatherhead East Asian Institute and Associate Professor of Chinese History at Columbia University, met with the Mayor of Taipei, Ko Wen-je, at his office to discuss further cooperation between Taipei and the Columbia community.
In Taipei, the Board of the Columbia Alumni Association of Taiwan also hosted welcome dinners for Professor Lean and Benjamin L. Liebman, the Robert L. Lieff Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Chinese Legal Studies at Columbia Law School.
