During the event, Daniel Russel, Diplomat in Residence and Senior Fellow at the Asia Society Policy Institute and former Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs in the U.S. Department of State, discussed several diplomatic challenges in East Asia. Mr. Russel’s presentation was moderated by Takako Hikotani, the Gerald L. Curtis Associate Professor of Modern Japanese Politics and Foreign Policy, Columbia University.
