The Weatherhead East Asian Institute is pleased to share a short video introducing viewers to new faculty members who are expanding the study of Southeast Asia at Columbia University.
Introduced by Eugenia Lean, Director of the Weatherhead East Asian Institute and Associate Professor of Chinese History, the video features Lien-Hang Nguyen, Dorothy Borg Associate Professor in the History of the United States and East Asia, and John D. Phan, Assistant Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures, both of whom are experts on Vietnam who recently joined the Columbia faculty. The video also features Duncan McCargo, a Visiting Professor of Political Science at Columbia University who is an expert on Southeast Asian–particularly Thai–politics.
