- The Inner Asia Workshop, beginning in fall 2015, met three times a semester over a three-year period to collect, study, assess and develop curricular materials on the region.
- The Workshop had 10-20 core participants, representing both faculty and graduate students, as well as visiting scholars and guest speakers.
- The Workshop was based on collaborative involvement with other institutions in the New York region, and included scholars and graduate students of the area from neighboring institutions such as NYU, CUNY, Cornell and others, to participate in the workshops.
- The members are cross-regional and interdisciplinary: participants were drawn from both Inner Asian and Eurasian studies, and came from the disciplines of history, political science, anthropology, humanities and economics as well as area studies.
- Each workshop session was based on the discussion of readings set for the group and on evaluation of their suitability as curricular materials.
